Awful Dr Radio,

Had a bit of a comedy moment earlier when myself and Shergar both turned up for the same water torture session - turns out he hadn't set his clock back for daylight saving but got me thinking...

With all this clever DAB stuff, you know like that scrolling text that tells me the track that's playing and the artist or the news. Well if it can tell the difference between Eminem and Emma Bunton why do I have to tell it what the time is? That seems a bit wrong.

And think of the time we'd save if we didn't have to set the radio or reset if there was a power cut. (Cos' they don't always happen at midnight you know, despite what your clock might tell you)

Wayne

My dear award winning inmate,

Our fiendish minds have been able to devise a process whereby the radio acquires the time from the broadcast. The radio will do this when first turned on and again if it's turned off. As it also stores your alarm settings, the alarm will work correctly as long as there is power to the radio at the time you want to wake up.

Please keep the all-power-cuts-don't-happen-at-midnight clock conspiracy to yourself. (note to self, increase Number 6's dose)

Kevin
